This solo application is for experienced, fully independent agents only, and every applicant must meet every requirement below. Newly licensed agents apply through our Just Licensed Agent application. If you do not meet the 6-month minimum, apply through our Just Licensed Agent application instead and start at a 100% commission, or join the downline of an agent who meets these requirements, or of a new agency, established agency or healthcare agency contracted with us, which gives you access to our training.

Solo agents who meet every requirement below are guaranteed more than the 100% every new agent starts at, by choosing carriers that pay above 100%. List your current levels by carrier on the application, and we will show you how we beat them. Inbound final expense calls are also available starting at $25.00 per inbound call, as an option with no requirement to buy.

What is included, and what is not: life insurance agents who meet these requirements get back office support (a guided contracting roadmap, a members portal, a carrier resource directory and help with carrier appointments, transfers and contracting questions; sales training, telesales scripts, objection handling, closing strategies, personal coaching and ongoing professional development; an agent management system with production, commission and book-of-business reporting; the CallWave inbound call platform with lead strategy and ROI guidance; and recruiting, training and retention resources for agency growth). Leads are not included, and there is no lead purchase requirement, no CRM mandate and no production quota.

Licensing and compliance

  • An active life insurance producer license in good standing.
  • Your own errors and omissions (E&O) coverage.
  • Current AML certification.
  • Clean background: no carrier terminations for cause, no recent bankruptcies and no recent criminal history. We verify through a Vector One check and a carrier debt check.
  • No outstanding debt or chargeback balance with any prior upline or carrier.

Proven production

  • 6+ months of continuous life insurance sales, with no gap longer than about 60 days.
  • Commission statements from the last 3 to 6 months, not just a claim of what you wrote.
  • 13-month persistency of 70% or better, or a placement ratio of 70% or better.
  • Appointments held with at least 1 carrier.

Fully self-sufficient

  • Your own lead source already running, with a monthly lead budget you can state.
  • Your own CRM, dialer, e-app and quoting tools, and a compliant phone setup (TCPA, DNC and call recording).
  • You can run underwriting on your own: prescription history, build charts and knockout conditions.
  • You accept in writing that leads are not included and that you run your own life insurance business.

How we verify

We review every application against these requirements. Qualified applicants are invited to a 10-minute screening call where you walk us through underwriting a sample case. Anyone who needs training shows it quickly.

Before contracting, we verify your license and appointments, run a carrier debt check, and ask for your commission statements, E&O certificate and AML certificate.

Your agreement and our right to terminate

By submitting an application, you agree to every requirement on this page and certify that everything you tell us is true, complete and not misleading. We are very strict about this.

If we learn that any statement you made was false or misleading, including your experience, production, persistency, debt, background, lead source, tools, or how you found us, BetterLifeQuotes.com has the right to deny your application or immediately terminate your contract.
